DOS and UNIX ProductsCustom/QCCustom/QC for DOSTM was one of the first SPC packages on the market and has over 2,000 installations. The output tools and statistics of the DOSTM version are similar to the WindowsTM version. Data can be input into the program via ASCII text files that are comma, space or tab delimited. The DOS version also contains a fishbone diagram module for visualizing cause-and-effect relationships in your processes. SPC DirectReducing variability in all aspects of your process is the aim of Statistical Process Control. Moving your SPC analysis from the office to the shop floor will allow you to detect and respond to process shifts as quickly as possible, thereby saving you money through increased efficiency and reduced scrap rates. Stochos realizes that shop-floor SPC presents some unique problems, so we've made a unique package. SPC Direct is an extremely flexible, user-definable, real-time Statistical Process Control Monitoring and Analysis database that has been specifically designed for the factory floor. As part of its shop floor design, SPC Direct can accept both manual and direct gage input as well as automatically poll larger process control data acquisition systems. SPC Direct consists of four modules which allow distinctly different aspects of the program to remain separate.
In addition to providing added security, this program design allows for a useful division of labor which contributes to operator ease-of-use and screen simplicity. DatabaseCollecting data costs money. To make the most of your investment, you'll need to store your data for future reference in a manageable fashion. SPC Direct's database gives you that power by storing all information (data values, causes of failure, operator comments, environmental conditions, etc.). The sorting capability inherent in a fully functional database allows the separation of data by any user defined traceability field such as:
This capability facilitates valuable off-line investigations such as Machine Capability and Supplier/Customer Studies. Operator Interface (Monitor)The Monitor is the operator interface through which data is gathered and SPC analysis is performed. The operator can toggle from the main screen to view any of the 32 configurable charts and view SOPs or variable-specific corrective action instructions. From the main screen, the operator can enter comments, view SOP documents, keep track of environmental conditions, and switch between Parts (Products) with minimal keyboard interaction. Real TimeWhat is GENUINE Real-Time SPC? SPC Direct is unique in the real-time world in that it simultaneously updates all control charts and associated calculations as the data is collected. All violations of control tests and/or specification limits are immediately conveyed to the operator via an on-screen flashing alarm bar. This "WATCHDOG" approach eliminates the need for operators to view each chart to check for out-of-control conditions and frees up their time for more productive tasks. Environmental ConditionsEnvironmental analysis becomes a breeze as operators select current conditions from a list of 32 configurable selections. All conditions are stored in the database with each record to facilitate off-line correlation analysis. Causes of FailureUsers can log the Cause of Failure for any given alarm with the touch of a key. A list of 12 Assignable Causes can be configured per variable. An off-line Pareto Analysis of the historical Causes will help you focus your process improvement efforts. Manual and Direct Gage InputUser-defined MANUAL DATA INPUT forms can be filled in via keyboard or hand-held gage. AUTOMATIC DATA COLLECTION can be accomplished through virtually any device that has data output capabilities, such as automated gauging systems or PLCs. |
