SPC Direct for WindowsTMReducing variability in all aspects of a process is the aim of Statistical Process Control. Moving SPC analysis from the office to the shop floor allows one to detect and respond to process shifts as quickly as possible, thereby saving time & money through increased efficiency and reduced scrap rates. Stochos realizes that shop-floor SPC presents some unique problems, so we’ve made a unique package. SPC Direct is an extremely flexible, user-definable, real-time Statistical Process Control Monitoring and Analysis database that has been specifically designed for the factory floor. As part of its shop-floor design, SPC Direct can accept manual and direct gage input as well as automatically poll larger process control data acquisition systems. As a 32-bit application, SPC Direct for WindowsTM will run on either Windows 9xTM,Windows METM, Windows 2000TM or Windows NTTM. SPC Direct consists of 3 modules, which allow distinctly different aspects of the program to remain separate:
In addition to providing added security, this program design allows for a useful division of labor that contributes to operator ease-of-use and screen simplicity.
SPC Direct contains all of the tools that are necessary for a successful factory-floor SPC implementation:
What is GENUINE Real-Time SPC?SPC Direct is unique in the real-time world in that it simultaneously updates all SPC charts and associated calculations as the data is collected. All violations of control tests and/or specification limits are immediately conveyed to the operator via an on-screen alarm. This “watchdog” approach eliminates the need for operators to view each chart to check for out-of-control conditions and frees up their time for more productive tasks.
On-Line Control Chart Types Include:
Cause of Failure Tracking Users can log the Cause of Failure for any given alarm with a click of the mouse. A list of 12 Assignable Causes can be configured per variable. An off-line Pareto Analysis of the historical Causes will help you focus your process improvement efforts. Data Collection User defined MANUAL DATA INPUT forms can be filled in via keyboard or hand-held gage. Manual Input forms can be configured to collect up to 48 variables per reading.
AUTOMATIC DATA COLLECTION can be accomplished through virtually any device that has data output capabilities, such as automated gaging systems or PLCs. Microsoft’s SQL 7.0TM Provides Powerful Data Management and Traceability: Collecting data costs money. To make the most of your investment you’ll need to store your data for future reference in a manageable fashion. Microsoft’s SQL 7.0TM gives you that power by storing all information (data values, causes of failure, operator comments, environmental conditions, etc.) in a powerful database tool. The sorting capability inherent in a relational database allows the separation of data by any user-defined traceability field such as Gage Station (Work Area, Machine, Tool, etc.), Product (Part#, Part Family, etc.), Lot (Lot#, Operator, Shift, etc) and Date/Time. This capability facilitates valuable off-line investigations such as Machine Capability and Supplier/Customer Studies. Crystal ReportsTM, Seagate’s powerful report writer, will allow you to meet all of your database reporting needs. Download the zipped Powerpoint slideshow demo here! |
